661 Mini DH at PORC – Kent
Mini Downhill, Mini Downhill Dates, Mini Downhill News — By Chris Roberts on July 6, 2010 at 9:22 pmChris Roberts welcome’s you to PORC for the 661 Mini Downhill.
Saturday 24th July 2010
NEW 10 & 11 Year old and want to race downhill?
The minimum age for DH in the UK is 12 years old but we are always getting asked by parents “their son is 11 year’s old and really wants to start racing.
Great news is Mini Downhill’s are the only races approved by British Cycling to have 10&11 year old kids racing downhill. we made the “Rippers” age category just for them, so tell you’re little brother to get his bike out and he can start racing.
The PORC has a long list of famous riders who started riding here back in the day.
Its now a breeding ground for local new talent that will surprise quite a few with their race times.
This makes the racing really intense where every single second counts.
Riders will be competing against the clock to get the fastest time.
Two timed runs the winner is the rider with fastest time.
Prizes
for top 3 in each age categories & our custom Helmet Trophies.
Cash Prize for the Pro-Am’s

the 26th is a monday
yeah, im guessing it will be on the 24th then.
It’s a long way to travel to race on the Saturday….. if racing is on a Sunday, we can make a weekend of it and spend the day before catching up with the locals knowledge to even it out a bit!????
How do we enter…? I can’t find anywhere to click on…?
We have a whole weekend of racing with the Mini DH on Saturday, Dirt Wars on Saturday Night and then National 4x series on Sunday.
There are loads of diffrent tracks at Porc & The actual course will not be tapped out untill Friday to try & keep it the same for everyone.
When are race entries going to open?
Will there be a link from this page?
Thanks
Yes entry form will link from this page.
I will email everyone who has raced a mini Dh before, then a few days later open them up to everyone.
This will be around 1st week of June.
Hi Chris
It will be Jack’s first time at entering 4x. Is he old enough (Rippers Category at MiniDH). We are new to racing, apart from the 2 MiniDH’s he did at FoD, so is there anything else we need to do? What is Dirt Wars?
Cheers, Andy
Hi,
When is the entry for this race going to open.
Thanks, Ben
The min & max birth dates are wrong for the rippers category, as it won’t let us enter. It reads:
Date of Birth
Min: 01/01/2000
Max: 31/12/1999
Not a lot of time between one day and the next
I managed to enter Jack Tennyson by putting his birth date as 31/12/1999 to enter the Rippers category. His DOB is 5/3/99.
Cheers
Hi When and where will race entry be open? Thanks
They are open now just click the enter online button
Hi guys, entry booked, now then…. is there a campsite nearby as i’ve never been to PORC and would prefer to travel down friday.
cheers
You camp on site right next to track.
£5 per person for Friday & Saturday night or just £3 for Saturday night.
Hi, I am hoping to come over on Friday to get in some practice and camp over that evening before race day. Will there be facilities for food etc availiable?
Cheers
Hi, there only seems to be 33 entrants out of a possible 300, is this the case and if so will the event still take place? can you tell me how many Rippers have entered too please?
Wot time does it shut on friday and can we practice on the course/
just wondeirn is it possable to enter on the day or do you have to book before?
Hi, does anyone know if the event is still taking place with such little numbers being signed up?
Hi, i was just wondewring if you can signup on friday night or saturday morning as the online registartion closes soon and im still not sure if i can enter. also what time does the dirt wars comp start on saturday?
There will some on the day entries now but it’s extra £5 on the day
You can sign up on Saturday morning
Hi, we are still trying to find out how many Rippers have entered. Please can someone let me know as we have a long way to travel and are trying to find out if there are enough entries to make the trip worth while.
Regards

Cheers Chris.
We had a great days racing. Just glad to have beaten my 11 year old Son! I have to thank my sponsors on the day, without them I couldn’t have done it…… Thanks to Ibuprofen and Paracetamol!
Just a thought…. whilst having 4 runs was brilliant, due to a low turn-out, could it have been due to the camping on-site not being advertised? I had tried to book in to local campsites and they were all full…. just a thought?
Thanks again for another great miniDH. Andy and Jack
