Rd3 British4x Redhill

Sunday was the third round of the Schwalbe British4x Series and it was held at Redhill in Gloucestershire. The track there is really fun, flowing and is also a great days riding. If you have not been there yet then get yourself over there before the summers over!Practice was fun; the sun was out and the track was fast and dusty. After a few runs it was time to chill before gates started, about 15 minutes before our gates started it rained for about 10 minutes but it was just enough to dampen the track and keep the dust down so it did some good. After a few gates it was time for racing to start, all the moto’s were all really close and a lot of great tight racing in every moto.
All my moto’s went well taking one 1st and two 2nd places which was enough to take me through to the semi finals. My Semi- final was going to be tough with Lewis Lacey who had straight wins through all his moto’s, Will Evans and Tom Gethin who knows this track well. I had a great first straight, made a good move in the first corner and came out in first but then I went a little wide and Lewis managed to get past but it was enough to take me into the A-Final.
The A-Final was Lewis Lacey, Tom Dowie and Alex Metcalfe; I knew what I had to do, it was just a case of getting it done. I felt good and was looking forward to it. The gate dropped and Lewis had a good gate, he closed me off so I hung back and made another really good move in the first corner and went into 1st. I held onto the lead from my move made in the first corner. I was stoked to take my first national win of the year, and now I am excited for national champ in 2 weeks time.

Check out the cool edit now
